I know we’ve recently transitioned into Cancer Season, but I still wanted to take a moment to talk about life as a Gemini. Yep, you read that right. I am a Gemini. I feel like Geminis get a bad rap, and every time I tell someone I’m a Gemini I get that definite side-eye look. We may be a little unorthodox, and we’re definitely perceived as crazy, but Geminis have a lot of fabulous traits as well.
I would say I share the typical true characteristics of a Gemini woman. I cannot stay still, I always have my hands in a bunch of different things, and there’s definitely a part of me that resonates with the “twins” of Gemini. My business/professional side of hustle mode versus my personal life side of me that wants to throw caution to the wind and just go.
Geminis talk a lot, love people, and our actions are often big and gradiose, which admittedly rubs people the wrong way sometimes. We can be a lot. And two Geminis together can either be great or really awful. My mom and I, for example, are both Geminis and work great together because we’re constantly doing all the things. I saw something once that said a Gemini’s trunk would be full of… roller blades, a swim towel, the Constitution of the United States, a toolbox, basically everything you can think of because we do so much all the time.
In fact, we have a tendency to take on too much, to start things and not finish them, and sort of be a jack of all trades rather than focusing on any one thing.
And that’s where I’ve chosen to divert from being a typical Gemini. I decided I wanted to settle down into being the master of one thing—my true passion, hair extensions. Once I made that decision, everything seemed to fall by the wayside and I knew that this was it. I’ve been specializing in exclusively extensions for around three years and my studio transitioned about six months ago, and I couldn’t be happier.
Reflecting on Gemini Season, which marks the halfway point through the year, I started reflecting on my business as well, along with everything we are looking forward to. The twin sides feel like they are perfectly aligned, and right now I’m feeling really good about being a crazy ass Gemini.
